It’s the 21st century and India in these times is home to about 260 medical colleges, which churn out about 30,000 undergraduate students a year. At any given time, there are a total of ~100,000 undergraduate medical students in India. While the medicos in India are a nation unto themselves, yet at present there exists no body to bind the Indian Medical Students together. This is in stark contrast to the fact that medicos in various other countries and regions have come together to form associations which promote and protect their interests. An urgent need was felt to establish an all-and-end-all umbrella organization for medical students in India to come together as one, to voice their opinions and concerns and so that they can co-operate at a larger stage.

 In keeping with this objective, some very enthusiastic students from different medical colleges came together and nurtured the idea, till it reached the stage that it is in today--- on the verge of becoming a tangible reality. Despite the apparent differences in the ideals of the founder members, we realized that the common goal and vision made our journey worthwhile. Now, we would like all our fellow medical students, to join us in this movement, and help enrich the experience.

We are in the process of registering the organization soon and we are accepting members. So come on and make this movement a revolution.
