• Structure of Presentation:

o Title: A descriptive yet catchy title to get hold of the audience (and by extension, the judges’) attention!

o Introduction: This defines what has been previously done and why your study is important. It is the part that draws the audience into the study. An overview, yet comprehensive enough to keep the audience interested to know more about the paper.

o Hypothesis/ Research question: It is one of the key elements of any research presentation. The life force, so to say. State the research question, preferably in an interrogative style, before you delve into the next section.

o Materials and Methods: This is the section where you go in and explain how the present study answers the research question that was raised in the previous section. In perfect continuity and harmony with the previous section, this should answer the question how you are going to obtain the answer to your research question.

o Results: State the observed results. Do not try to discuss them in this section. Try to keep this section as audio-visual as possible. The chance of losing your audience in the maze of numbers is a stark possibility!

o Discussion: Describe your results. Discuss the findings. This is the section where your study really comes to life! Mention any conditions which may have swayed the results of your study. What else could you have done differently here?

o Conclusion: Summarize what just happened for the benefit of the audience. Drive the point home!

o Future prospective: Discuss the future prospective of your research, if any.

    o References/Acknowledgements/funding if any.
